Fifth Grade Math
Fifth grade math starts with number theory, computation, and estimation. As the year progresses the concepts expand to include geometry, division, fractions, exponents, negative numbers, area, volume, and algebraic concepts. Lastly, we finish with rates, ratios, and probability. Students are grouped for math. These groups are flexible and may change throughout the year based on MAP scores, teacher observation of student work, and student work habits. It is our goal to provide appropriate placement for students based on these factors.
